Oatmeal Playdough

We made a new version of playdough that I found in a cool book that I have. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it was a great success!

Here is the recipe:
1 part flour
1 part water
2 parts oatmeal

The kids helped make it:

Then they played:

Garet made a snake!

LOL - Owen was not too impressed. He was not very interested in getting his hands dirty.

Going for a walk

We decided to go for a walk on one of the recent beautiful mornings. The kids were so excited! We walked around the neighborhood and talked about all that we saw - cars, houses, trees, trashcans, long grass and short grass, and even a UPS truck! :)

A is for Alligator

First we painted our A's

Then we cut them out and gave them teeth and eyes:

Garet being an Alligator!!

Owen really was excited, I just didnt get a good picture (haha!)

Painting with Q-tips

Today we painted with Q-tips on a sheet with bug pictures. We named the bugs and talked about what colors we were using. The kids did really well using the Q-tips as their "brushes"!

Little Cowpokes

I can't get over how cute this picture is of Evan!

Chloe and Ally Make Cakes!

I had a birthday party to attend and it was my job to make the cakes. I decided it would be a lot more fun if Chloe and Allyson made the cakes instead. Chloe made the chocolate cake and Ally made the white cake. They had a blast!

First, they posed for a picture (of course!)

Second, they combined all the ingredients:

Last, they mixed like little pros:

I finished the cakes by pouring them into the pans and baking them. The girls kept commenting on how good they smelled. What fun!
